We will be singing some Christmas hymns together a few days before Advent begins. And we will have an opportunity for recitations as well.

The Polk County TN Homeschool Network is having their annual Kids’ Thanksgiving Cook-Off on Friday 11/17/23 at 1pm. Food, Friends & Thanksgiving is the theme. Simply prepare some type of edible creation and bring it to to be judged. No cooking will be done on-site. Always feel free to bring extra to share in this Friendsgiving celebration.
Guidelines:
This is open to all school aged kids in the Network.
Kid’s can be assisted with their edible creation, but need to be the primary ones cooking the goodies.
Can be sweet, savory or in between.
Candy, no-bake desserts, microwavables are also acceptable.
Each student can submit 1 entry.
Get creative and think outside of the cake box.
Entries will be judged by an independent official judge who this year will be Sweet Reliance Cookies.

Big news!! In honor of a 4th annual tradition, this year the Polk County TN Homeschool Network is happy to announce that they will be hosting two Homeschool Days at the Ocoee River Maze of Ocoee Valley Farms.  The first day will be on Wednesday October 11, 2023 and the second day will be on Tuesday October 17, 2023.  Both days will be from 10am until 2pm weather permitting. The cost is $10 per person (plus tax). Kids under 3 are free. Each paying customer will get to hunt for their very own perfect pumpkin from the 80 variety patch to take home at no additional charge! There is fun for kids of all ages and folks can enjoy the whole farm for the price of admission.

There will be Hayrides, 8-acre Corn Maze, Jump Pad, Flume Zoom and Grain Bin Slides, Corn Tubs, Horsey Tire Swings, “Ball Zone”, Kiddie Zipline, Farm Animals, Barnyard Sports, Wildflower Gardens, Story Trail along the Ocoee River, Photo Ops and much more. The farm also features Spookley, the Square Pumpkin. He teaches lessons on tolerance and kindness, and he is the national symbol for the campaign against bullying in schools. Come get lost together “where the river flows, and memories grow”.

The River Maze is located in Polk County, TN at Ocoee Valley Farms 1371 Hwy 64 Benton, TN 37307. It is situated 3.5 miles east of Ocoee just past the newly opened Ocoee River Bridge. Parking is free.
